Tourism Management Department was established in 2009 E.c under the College of Business and Economics at Wachemo University.

In the year of establishment, there were 30 students and 2 teachers in the department. Currently, the number of staff and students is increasing occasionally. There are more than 100 students, and 9 Instructors (teachers) are actively running teaching, research, community service, and related activities in the department

In 2015, E.C., the department's name was modified from Tourism Management to Tourism and Hotel Management at the national level for different reasons for undergraduate programs.
