Vision

Department of Tourism and Hotel Management is dedicated to advancing sustainable tourism in Ethiopia in general and in the Central Ethiopian region Province in particular by imparting quality education, training, and research in the tourism and hospitality sectors with a primary focus on preparing competitive managers and professionals for local, regional and global markets.

Mission

The mission of the department is to prepare undergraduate students for challenging careers in the hotel and tourism industry and to provide excellence in instruction and academic environment in the development of managers and leaders in the rapidly growing hospitality management industry, such as hotel management, restaurant, and foodservice management; conventions, meetings and event management, travel agencies management, international tourism development and other areas of significance.

The mission of the Department of Hotel and Tourism Management, therefore, is:

• To educate undergraduate students to assume leadership positions in the hotel and tourism industry successfully
• To advance the state of knowledge by conducting meaningful research to assist leaders of hospitality and tourism organizations to manage in a dynamic environment successfully
