Major duties of CEP coordinating office are

  • Coordinating the teaching learning process in collaboration with the respective Departments and college and assesses the proper implementation of the educational rules and regulations of the University.
  • Assuring the effective administration of the continuing education program in accordance with the provision of this legislation and the general principles established by the University senate,
  • Organizing, coordinating, and administering the office of the continuing education programs,
  • Reviewing and coordinating evening, in-service/summer/Kiremt education and short term training programs of the University,
  • Assessing whether the continuation of existing continuing, and short term programs are justified in the light of the region's and country's needs,
  • Periodically reviewing future programs and developments within the scope of continuing Education Program of the University,
  • Conducting need assessments and launch different programs with high demand,
  • Seeking appropriate ways and means to enable the distance and continuing education programs to become self-supporting by charging appropriate tuition and service fees,
  • Exploring the feasibility of expanding Programs to different centers in consultation with the various colleges/schools of the University as well as with governments and non-government agencies,
  • Developing selection criteria for support staff that would like to be trained in the continuing education programs.
  • Exploring the viability of differential tuition rates for different courses and programs
  • Preparing and submits the details of all necessary academic and office furniture and personnel for the program each year and effect implementation when allowed.
  • Developing a system for collecting data on services delivered, other related issues
  • Preparing payments of instructors and supporting staff that are directly involved in the continuing education programs after receiving a written approval from concerned Departments/offices for the involvement and makes a continuous follow up on the successful accomplishment of tasks based on prior agreement.
  • Preparing and submits annual academic, administration and financial report to the Office of the Vice President for Academic ,research, technology transfer and community service
  • Identifying ways to strengthen the overall income of the continuing education programs in collaboration with concerned Departments
  • Collecting suggestions or complaints from continuing education programs students and channels them to the appropriate body for timely decisions
  • Encouraging and working in close collaboration with all academic staff members involved in teaching continuing education programs students to assist them in compiling teaching materials, and carries out other assignments and duties given by the ARTTCSVP/Senate.
