Strategic Goals

The main goal of the directorate is Enhancing Community Engagement and Stakeholders Satisfaction or Trust through giving the achievements on the thematic areas selected below.


Strategic Goal 1: Increasing fair and equity Technology transfer to community

Strategic action:

  • Striving to convert the findings of problem solving researches, innovation and technology to community service;
  • Doing cooperatively with different industries
Strategic Goal 2: Increasing University Industry Linkage and community service Strategies:

  • Increasing consultancy service for industries
  • Doing in collaboration with different industries and organizations
  • Increasing knowledge based community service provision by the university
Strategic Goal 3: Building Culture of Science and Enhancing Indigenous Knowledge Strategies:

  • Establishing and enhancing STEM Centers in the university as well as selected high schools
  • Increasing science, technology and Mathematics professionals participations both males and female in the community service provisions
  • Providing need based trainings for researchers and community by senior researchers and trainers
Strategic Goal 4: Increasing International and National collaborations

  • Writing different project proposals of collaborations
  • Frequent Contact with embassies and NGO’s

Increase stakeholders and communities engagement in decision making and implementation process through:

  • Using Guidelines of Community service and engagement Directorate ,WCU properly
  • Following Servant and transformational Leadership styles
  • Improving Vertical, Horizontal and Diagonal communication system with different stakeholders in the university as well as out of campus
  • Building healthy team work spirit in the Wachemo University as well as out community in general through promoting commitment and sense of ownership among community.
  • Availing affordable, quality products, services and outreach services to the target community based on need driven thematic areas of community service and engagement
  • Strengthening periodic planning, Implementation, monitoring, evaluation and feedback approach in the directorate
Strategic Goal: 6 Improving Budget and Resource Utility

  • Creating transparency in budget planning, utilization and evaluation
  • Developing habit of using budget based on financial guideline and its principles

  • Writing different project proposals concerning CSE
  • Cooperating with other industries, NGOs, Governmental organization
