Mission of the Department

Mission 1: Teaching and Learning

To provide high-quality education and training that develops Anesthesia professionals with strong knowledge, clinical skills, positive attitudes, and critical thinking abilities in alignment with their professional scope of practice.

Mission 2: Community Service

To prepare anesthesia professionals who can deliver the full scope of safe and effective Anesthesia services that meet the healthcare needs of the community.

Mission 3: Research

To promote a culture of inquiry and innovation by engaging Anesthesia professionals in research that advances clinical practice and contributes to the improvement of Anesthesia services.

Goals of the Department

  • To equip Anesthesia professionals with solid knowledge of biomedical science, clinical, and public health practice.
  • Prepare Anesthesia students in providing individualized Anesthesia clinical care using an Individualized Anesthesia management plan.
  • Enable Anesthesia students to practice professionally on all levels of Anesthesia clinical care settings.
  • Train Anesthesia students in developing professional communication skills in dealing with patients, patient families, and other health professionals.
  • Prepare the Anesthesia students to participate in conducting and utilizing relevant research findings.
  • Train Anesthesia students to apply evidence-based Anesthesia clinical care practice.
  • Equip Anesthesia students with leadership management skills, critical thinking, and decision-making skills which lead to reflective and responsible practice.
  • Equip Anesthesia students with knowledge and skill in emergency and critical care which help them to handle critically ill patients.
