Department of Comprehensive Nursing

The department of nursing was established in 2012 as department of nursing and midwifery. In 2017, the department of nursing incorporates two post-basic specialties: surgical nursing and pediatrics nursing. Since December 2019, it is named as Department of Comprehensive Nursing.

Currently the department has regular and private regular programs with a total number of 310 students in all batches. The department also has more experienced and committedstaffs in five specialty areas namely Adult health nursing, maternity nursing, emergency and critical care nursing, psychiatry nursing and general public health together with Technical assistances. The program will takes 4 years with atotal of 288ECTs

• Utilization of the partograph and associated factors among obstetric care givers in Hadiya Zone Hospitals, SNNPR 2017 has been done
• Infection prevention project in WCU-NEMMH
• Palliative care for chronic disease including HIV patients in WCU-NEMMH
