The Project will focus on the role of remittance in enhancing the livelihood of the Households of Hossana town within 20km radios. The practice of Migrant and Diaspora remittance highlights measures for improving the remittance market (e.g. reaching rural areas through postal networks, enhancing innovative technologies such as mobile banking. However, the scope of this project will be limited to investigating the existing trends of the Remittance flow development and its significance roles for both rural and urban dwellers, based on a survey of a sample of members from farm households and producers’ cooperatives in the areas. The major limitation to the study will be that its findings could not be compared with previous data because of lack of previous statistics on rural and urban remittance inquirer in the areas.
